Quick Update – We’ve been busy in the background…

It just dawned on me that whilst we’ve been so focused on working on WORK[etc], I’ve completely neglected the WORK[etc] blog!

has been 2 months since I last posted an update and to stop the reek of
ghost town advancing any further, here is a brief update on what we’ve
been up to:

  • Support has been consolidated and revamped.
We now have an expanding library of training videos and a lot more buzz
around the support forums. Anyone can view our support area, but you
must be logged into your account to participate:
  • We have a
new, cleaner web site coming soon. The new site will include a bunch
of demonstration videos as well as taking the WORK[etc] blog in a
    completely new direction.
  • We have completed a rewrite
of the document management tool that will allow all our customers a
    better upload/download experience.
  • We have set a
    time-line for migrating WORK[etc] to a private cloud-computing
environment which will give us total hardware, network and geographic
redundancy.  Our uptime has been 100% for the last few months, but we
are building for the future here.
  • Simon and I have been
compiling a huge list of enhancements and new features for a version
2.6 release of WORK[etc] around December this year. We’ll be publishing
this list over at the forums for comments shortly, but if you want to
get involved before then, please post your ideas at
  • iPhone App.
We are working toward an early 2010 release of a native WORK[etc]
application for the iPhone, to be followed by a Windows Mobile and
Blackberry release. We like to use
the services of our customers, so if you are a WORK[etc] customer with
iPhone application development experience, please get in contact.

we are working on translating WORK[etc] into a number of different
languages. A Spanish version is almost complete, with French and
Italian on the way. If you would like a free, unlimited copy of
WORK[etc] for your business, just head over and register at our
translation page:

Exactly How Does A CRM Make Flying Safer?

WORKetc CRM helps ARA-I’s forensic engineers streamline their day-to-day processes. Growing up, Ivan Collins dreamed of working on cars as a race team engineer. That is, until he heard about a job where he could blow them up instead. “I was on a race team at NC State in the engineering department,” he recalls. “One […]

3 Quick Steps to Maximize Your Email Marketing Profits

I’m not the biggest sci-fi fan out there, but even I know at least one thing about Star Wars: Imperial Stormtroopers can’t aim. This Stormtrooper tactic is scattershot marketing […]

Multitasking is Killing Your Productivity. Here’s How to Save It

Just like every other small business owner, I juggle a lot of tasks as the owner and founder of WORKetc. One minute I’m overseeing development on our web app, and the next I’m on a sales call with a potential customer. Sales, support, projects, finance—I’m basically both leader and member of these very different departments […]
