A big part of how we promote WORK[etc] is to show the product in action. And the best way of doing this is to show people an account with lots of real activity and rich data. We’ve tried creating this ourselves, but because we’re not accountants, or consultants, or marketing people our attempts never look quite that good.
So, what we’re asking for here is permission to clone your account and randomize your data so that we can produce a meaningful demo.

How does randomization work?
So that all your important information can never be made public, we go through a (database) process of randomizing your account data, including the following steps:
- Clone your account onto a separate database.
- Change your company name and logo.
- Randomize all contact people and company names.
- Randomize all numbers.
- Randomize all street and city numbers.
- Delete all documents and attachments.
- Delete all activities except for 5 each of projects, sales, notes, support cases, timesheets, discussions, invoices and then manually rewrite these to ensure no private information is ever visible.
- Then as a final safety net, these demo accounts are never made available to the general public. They are only ever used to create screen shots or in demonstrations.
The information we do preserve is content relevant to your specific industry. For example, a marketing firm might have a project to produce a television commercial. We would change the language so that the client and topic cannot be identified, but keep the general theme of what tasks might be involved in television production.
As you can imagine this brings absolute realism to the WORK[etc] demo experience!
UPDATE: Currently we are only looking for Accounting, Web Development, SEO & SEM, Marketing and Advertising Agencies, that have more than 3 active users and language is English!
